Panaah 2016, lives up to Bigger, Better and Stronger

9th December, the final episode of K.P.B. Hinduja College of Commerce’s annual district level intercollegiate festival Panaah took place at an even more extravagant level and every corner of Birla Matoshree, the venue for the day was filled with an overwhelming amount of grandiose.

The first event of the day was Solo Singing  and was the perfect kick-start to a fun filled day as the contestants serenaded the audience with their soulful performances. The judges of this segment were Bollywood singer and songwriter Hriday Gattani and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa contestant Jyotica Tangri who found the energy of those on stage contagious and even put up their own performances owing to multiple requests from the audience.

“I come from the same college culture having done my education in Mumbai and fests like these were a huge part of my college life back then. Kudos to the entire team of Panaah for putting up such a fantastic show because organising an fest is not as easy as it seems.”, said Hriday who got to relive his college days and had a fantastic time at the event.

Second came the Solo Dance segment where all the contestants sure did set the stage on fire. The judge was Sneha Kapoor, a professional salsa dancer and choreographer who is popularly known as “The Indian Salsa Princess”.

Scheduled third was the Group Dance segment which raised the excitement and energy of the spectators like never before. The judge for this segment was choreographer Krishna Perla. The most memorable performance was put up by the Contigent ‘The Walking Dead’ where their entire performance highlighted the Nirbhaya Rape Case which took place on 16 December, 2012 and shook the entire country. Their act moved the entire auditorium to tears which earned them the first place in this segment.

Next in line was Mr. & Ms. Panaah where contestants competed by showcasing their talent to earn the coveted title. This segment was judged by Clince Varghese and Pooja Gor of Man Ki Awaaz Pritgya fame. The walk in celebs for this segment were RJ Man and Sahil Salathia of Everest fame who commented on the spontaneity of those on stage as well as the spectators. RJ Man even gave a member of the audience a slot in the show after listening to his mind-blowing beatboxing skills.

Last but not the least was the much-awaited Fashion Show which was definitely the highlight of the event. The judges were Yuvraaj Parashar, Indian model and film actor and Anosh Mohta. Mreenal Deshraj was the walk in celeb during this segment of the show. All the participants put their best foot forward while dressed to the nines and impressed the judges with their runway skills.

Year after year, Panaah sets its own record and outdoes itself while setting the benchmark for college fests around the entire city. Panaah 2016, the third instalment of the fest earned a jaw-dropping response from colleges all over the city. Next year, the college will come up with their fourth season of the festival and will aim for an even higher goal and surpass it like always.
