Uttarakhand launches free WIFI connectivity for all state colleges

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat started free high-speed WiFi service for all government colleges and universities in the state. Uttarakhand is India’s first to offer free internet to every government-run colleges and universities. 

Schools to reopen for classes 9 to 12 in Maharastra from 23rd November

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray allowed schools in the state to reopen for classes 9 to 12 from November 23. State Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said that in-person classes will be held on alternate days, keeping in mind the risk of coronavirus contagion. She continued that Science, Mathematics and English will be explained in classrooms, while online classes will be held for other subjects. 

States must compensate traders for losses due to firecrackers ban: CIAT

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) on Sunday said states that have prevented the purchase of firecrackers should compensate fireworks dealers for the damages endured by them due to the ban.

Indian-American surgeon Dr. Vivek Murthy to be chosen for Biden’s COVID Taskforce

Indian-American physician Dr Vivek Murthy is anticipated to co-chair the coronavirus task force which the recently elected president Joe Biden is going to declare on Monday. Dr. Murthy was appointed America’s 19th Surgeon General earlier in the year 2014 by the former President of the United States, Barack Obama. During the Trump administration, he was asked to step down. He is one of the youngest members to operate the office at the age of 37. 

Scotland becomes first nation in UK to ban smacking children

Scotland has become the leading country in the United Kingdom to impose a ban on smacking children. With the new legislation that came into force on Saturday, children under 16 now have the same protection from assault as adults. Earlier parents and caretakers were permitted to use physical force to correct their kids as long as it was considered “reasonable chastisement”.

Goswami had been sent to judicial custody for 14 days on the day of his arrest, also was remained at the quarantine centre of Alibaug Municipal School. As per the Raigad crime branch’s investigating officer Jamil Shaikh, Goswami was handling somebody’s mobile phone and continued active on social media while staying in judicial custody.

108-year-old awarded honorary doctorate by Central University of Karnataka

The Central University of Karnataka has awarded environmentalist ‘Saalumarada’ Thimmakka with an honorary doctorate. She was delivered the doctorate by university officials at her apartment in Bengaluru. ‘Saalumarada’ – meaning rows of trees in Kannada – has risen about 400 banyan trees and is also guarding them.

States like Punjab misleading farmers about farm laws: Union Minister

Kerala govt. grants Rs 20 lakh aid for education of prisoners’ children

The Kerala officials have granted a fund of Rs 20 lakh as monetary relief for the education of children of jail convicts. A total of Rs 15 lakh has been confirmed for the aid of their fundamental learning and Rs 5 lakh for their skilful research, state Social Justice Minister K K Shylaja.

The influence behind this campaign was to visit the problems faced by patients and the attendants at Government General Hospital (GGH) to give clean, fresh and free eats to patients and their caretakers.
