JEE NEET syllabus most likely to be revised for 2021: Education Ministry

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has asked the National Testing Agency (NTA) to analyze the current situation and share a revised syllabus for the various competitive and entrance exams, including JEE Main and NEET 2021. 

Armed forces given free hand to counter changes across LAC: Govt

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, “the government has given free hand to Indian Armed Forces to counter any changes on LAC”. “Indian Army countered PLA’s soldiers (in Galwan valley) and forced them to move back,” he added. “India has a perceptional difference with China. Despite this, there are protocols that armies of the two countries follow while patrolling LAC,” Rajnath tweeted.

Will leave White House if Biden’s electoral win confirmed: Trump

US President Donald Trump said that he would leave the White House if the Electoral College confirms Joe Biden’s victory in the elections held on November 3. “It’s going to be a very hard thing to concede because we know there was massive fraud,” he added. The Electoral College, which determines the White House winner, will meet next month to formalise Biden’s victory.

Microsoft criticized for enabling ‘workplace surveillance’ with its tool

Microsoft received criticism for enabling “workplace surveillance” through its “Productivity Score” tool that lets managers use Microsoft 365 to monitor and track employees’ activities at an individual level, including the number of days an employee has been sending emails or using the chat. An Austrian researcher Wolfie Christl raised the alarm about the feature calling it “problematic”.

Kangana’s property demolition done on wrongful grounds: Bombay HC

The Bombay High Court has ruled in favor of Kangana Ranaut in her plea challenging demolition activity by the BMC on her property in Bandra.  The court said, ‘’The demolition activity at her property was done on wrongful grounds”. “It is nothing but malice in law.” The court also ordered compensation against the loss caused to Kangana.

No written permission needed for marriage events amid COVID-19: UP Govt

The UP government said that no written permission needs to be obtained from local authorities to conduct wedding ceremonies in the state amid COVID-19. A statement read, “However, if any misconduct by the police is reported, strict action will be taken. Officers will be held accountable.’’ Although, members of DJs and music bands will not be counted as wedding guests.

Free flight rescheduling for those affected in farmer’s protest: Air India

Air India has allowed it’s passengers, a “no-show waiver and one free reschedule”  who failed to report for their flights relating to Punjab farmers’ protest in Delhi NCR. “Waiver will be valid for flights scheduled out of Delhi airport only for November 26,” Air India tweeted. Vehicle checking and security measures were toughened at Delhi borders.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh referring to border standoff with China said, “Like Pakistan, we have another neighbour who keeps raising disputes about the border.” He added, “I want to reiterate: Nobody can occupy an inch of India’s land”, and state that no country should work expansionist ambitions and each should develop within its boundaries.

World’s first hijab-wearing supermodel quits fashion shows over religious beliefs

America’s Halima Aden, the world’s first hijab-wearing supermodel, announced she’s quitting runway shows as it compromises her religious beliefs. She recounted skipping prayers, being draped with a pair of jeans for a head covering and agreeing to model without a hijab. “I can only blame myself for caring more about opportunity than what was actually at stake,” the model wrote. 

BJP releases manifesto for Hyderabad civic body elections

Former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis released the BJP manifesto for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls. Fadnavis said, “Corporation will ensure no one will have to run to any private hospital for the [COVID-19] vaccine.” He added that planned development for the city and free travel for women are some of the important steps promised in the manifesto.
