The Supreme Court has chosen to not interfere with the centre’s and the RBI’s loan moratorium policy and has refused the extension of six months loan moratorium period. The court also declined permission to waive off complete interest as it affects depositors. A bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, R Subhash Reddy and MR Shah passed the verdict.
Indian female wrestlers namely Seema (50kg), Anshu Malik (57kg), Sonam Malik (62kg), Nisha Dahiya (68kg), and Pooja Sihag (76kg) have been selected for the Asian Olympic qualifiers and Asian Championship which is going to be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The selection of these five wrestlers happened in the national selection trials at STC Lucknow. The championships are going to be conducted from April 9 to 18.
A proposal to set up 100 schools of “specialized excellence” in the city of Delhi has been cleared by the Delhi Government. The schools will include grades 9 to 12 and will be choice-based. These schools are to have four domains of specialization namely, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, Performing and Visual Arts, Humanities and “high-end 21st-century skills”.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar has announced that all belonging above the age of 45 irrespective of co-morbidities will be eligible for receiving the COVID-19 vaccination from the 1st of April. “We request that all eligible should immediately register and get vaccinated,” the minister said.
