Bihar student travelled 700 Km for NEET only to be banned for being 10 minutes late

NEET aspirant, Santosh Kumar Yadav, from Bihar, travelled nearly 700 kilometres only to be denied entry into the examination hall. The students were asked to report three hours early for security and health checks, with the deadline being 1:30 pm for a 2 pm examination. Yadav reached at 1:40, having to change multiple buses to get to the centre, only to be denied entry. He has now lost a year’s worth of training and preparation.

JNU ex-student, Umar Khalid, booked under UAPA

Former JNU student and Human Rights activist, Umar Khalid, was arrested on Sunday post 11 hours of questioning. Khalid has been booked under the UAPA and has been charged with being one of the main conspirators behind the recent communal riots that broke out in Delhi. He is to be produced in court today and authorities have stated that a charge sheet against the activist will be released in the course of the week. 

MAHA CM announces “My family,-My responsibility” program

Nearly 110 days since the fire at Baghdad Well No. 5 caused uncontrollable natural gas emissions, Oil Indian Limited (OIL) has finally managed to get the situation under control. The flow of gas within the well head has now been diverted, and the system is under constant monitoring until it completely stabilizes. 

Naomi Osaka sports ten diff masks at U.S Open in support of BLM

Osaka, of Japanese and Haitian heritage, wore seven different masks for each of her matches for the U.S Open in Japan on Sunday. Each mask directed attention to a victim of racial injustice and police brutality, including, but not limited to the likes of Breonna Taylor and Tamir Rice.

Nearly 24 Lok Sabha MPs tested positive for COVID-19 on the first day of Parliament’s monsoon session.  The Sabha also passed the National Commission for Indian System Medicine Bill 2019, and The National Commission for Homeopathy Bill 2019, during the course of this morning’s session. 

Instagram files patent for paid caption features

A patent application submitted by Instagram’s parent company, Facebook, in 2016 may now come through, asking users to pay a minimum fee of $2 to add a link to an Instagram caption. However, there is no substantial proof of this patent being enforced. 

20-year-old woman raped thrice in Thane quarantine centre by 27-year-old man

27 year old male attendant working in Thane quarantine centre is being held in custody for allegedly raping a 20 year old female in the facility. Although the incident occurred in June, the survivor only just filed the police case, following which strict action was taken.

Amit Shah admitted to AIIMS, New Delhi

Home Minister, Amit Shah, who’d tested positive for COVID-19 on 2nd August but was discharged two week ago, has now been readmitted to AIIMS, New Delhi his presence, along with many others, has been missed in the monsoon Parliament, with many other BJP leaders wishing him a “speedy recovery.”

Trump claims, PM Modi called to appreciate his “excellent job with COVID-19 testing”

US President, Donald Trump, claims that PM Narendra Modi has congratulated and praised him for his excellent job with the COVID-19 testing, saying “what a job you’ve done!” Trump event went on to say that the US is 44 million tests ahead of India, who are currently worldwide in coronavirus testing.
