Indian junior boxers at the fifth International Sven Lange Memorial Tournament, brought six gold, four silver and a bronze medal, and emerged as overall champions in the German city of Schwerin.
The cherry on the cake was when Bhavesh Kattamani (52kg) picked up the best boxer trophy in addition to his gold medal. Pugilists from all over the world flocking to Schwerin for this action-packed, prestigious three-day tournament as they battled it out to prove their mettle. The other gold-medallists for India were Vijeydeep (63kg), Akshay (60kg), Ish Pannu (70kg), Lakshay Chahar (80kg) and Vinit (75kg).
The silver medals were clinched by Anil (48kg), Swapnil Shinde (50kg), Aman (54kg) and Satender, while the sole bronze- medallist for the country was Aakash (66kg). Their performance also earned them an award for the ‘Best Team’ of the tournament.
