Looking to loosen up? You’re in luck.
VIBE: Illusions has a very lively and social feel to it. The lighting is perfect and adds to the intimacy. The entire ambience is the USP of the pub, even if it turns out to be a little heavy on the pocket.
MUSIC: Rather kitschy, groove-worthy nevertheless. They also have a small makeshift dance floor that easily gets crowded once the night sets in.
BITES AND BOOZE: In drinks, Mad Madras and Watermelon Basil Martini are sure winners. The Malai Kebab, Beef Lasagna, Oyster Pork and Beer Battered Onion Rings all make beautiful dishes. Their Annachi Curry Pasta is something you probably haven’t had before and will come back for. If you’ve come to Illusions for lunch, then the lunch combo is what you should certainly go for, it is both reasonable and savory.
FAB OR DRAB: Thumbs up to the ambience and the alcohol. The music could do with a little help. The food is pretty good too. We’re surely coming back. 105, 1st floor, Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai, Mylapore, Chennai. -Swati Kanal
