Enthusia, the national level intercollegiate Sports Extravaganza of VJTI – Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, is all set to take place from 8th December to 20th December at the Matunga campus in Mumbai. Enthusia is one of the few privileged fests to sustain sports in college itself.
The commencement will be marked by a grand opening ceremony on Dec 8th at the honourable hands of our country’s legendary batsman Padmashri Dilip Vengsarkar – the man who selected Virat Kohli for the Indian Cricket team, the hero who was a part of the 1983 World Cup winning team, and the legend who, in his days, made batting look like a walk in the park
The opening ceremony will also witness an enchanting and ethereal ‘Mallakhamba’ performance by some very talented children. Mallakhamba is a traditional Indian sport where gymnasts perform aerial yoga and wrestling grips in concert with vertical poles.
The evening continues with a Wheelchair Basketball exhibition match under brilliant floodlights. This exhibition of raw talent and gritting passion showcased by two young teams of the Wheelchair Federation of India, is sure to keep everyone on their feet.
