With IPL in Store for its Sixth Season This Summer, Youth Inc Tells You the Key Battles to Watch Out For

Delhi Daredevils vs. Kolkata Knight Riders
IPL 6 kicks off with a match between the two teams at the iconic Eden Gardens. For the KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir, it will be a match against his hometown and his former team, where he opened alongside Virender Sehwag. Over the past few seasons, Kolkata has gained steam, summing it up with an emphatic win in the IPL final last year. Delhi, on the other hand, hasn’t been up to the mark.
OUR TAKE: Considering its current crop of players, we expect KKR to keep up the momentum and get the better of their Delhi counterparts.

Dale Steyn vs. Sachin Tendulkar
The Hyderabad team, newly bought and renamed as Sunrisers Hyderabad, will take comfort from the fact that they have a fast bowler in their arsenal that’s known as much for his speed as for the lethal accuracy of his deliveries. Dale Steyn is the world’s deadliest fast bowler as of now but facing up to the greatest batsman of the modern age will be a different ball game altogether. Keep an eye open for this contest as it promises to be a cracker!
OUR TAKE: If the pitch doesn’t favour him, Steyn will have to take cover against the Mumbaikar.

Adam Gilchrist vs. M S Dhoni
The Indian captain once confessed to holding Gilchrist as his favourite wicket keeper and role model. In style of play, they have a stark resemblance in their reliability behind the wickets as well as in the manner in which they smash bowlers for runs. Both are also captains of their respective teams. When they clash on the cricket field, entertainment is guaranteed, with the result going in the way of the captain who leads from the front.
OUR TAKE: Considering Dhoni’s prolific record in India, there are strong chances that he’ll be the one taking the cake and the cherry in this encounter.

Pune Warriors India vs. Mumbai Indians
This won’t just be a contest between two teams from Maharashtra. It’ll be a clash between an ex-Aussie skipper and the current one. It will be a battle in which Yuvraj Singh will lock horns with his paaji, Sachin. A clash in which Angelo Mathews will try to outdo his Lankan mate Lasith Malinga. The two star studded teams will ensure that you will be hooked onto your TV till the very last ball is bowled.
OUR TAKE: Considering that Pune are still finding their feet in the IPL, we feel that the scales will tip in the favour of the Mumbai Indians.

Irfan Pathan vs. Yusuf Pathan
This is as much a tale of two brothers competing in the field as of two all rounders possessing some awesome cricketing skills. Either Irfan bowls and gets Yusuf’s wicket. Or the vice versa occurs. This time, it won’t just divide their family but the overall fan base in the world as they clash in the very first match of IPL 6.
OUR TAKE: One can never rule out the talismanic Yusuf but considering their recent forms, we favour Irfan to outdo his elder brother.
