Here are some masks that you can prepare anytime with your kitchen ingredients and pamper yourself whenever you wish to. Often we fail to examine our skin and hair type before using any masks or packs. Given below are some masks for your skin and hair with their preparation according to your skin and hair type.
The antibacterial and antioxidant properties of aloe vera along with the vitamin c of lemon has a great effect on your skin and hair. This pack helps reducing acne, tanning, dullness, and dandruff problems.
Ingredients:
Fresh Aloe vera gel (one small bowl)
Fresh lemon juice (2-3 tablespoon)
Honey (one tablespoon, for dry skin type)
Preparation:
In a bowl, mix the aloe vera gel and lemon juice with a thoroughly. You can also use a whisker or a hand blender to get a smooth texture.
Use for skin: This mask is suitable for all skin types and works the best on oily skin. Apply the paste on your face and rub it gently leaving the area around the eyes. Using a brush for applying the mask can also be preferred. Keep this mask for an hour and wash off gently with cold water. You can also keep this mask applied overnight for best results. Remember, your skin is not exposed to the sun as aloe vera attracts the sun rays causing dark spots.
Use it twice a week for acne and tan free glowing skin. If the skin type is extreme dry you can add one tablespoon honey to the mixture.
Use for hair:
Oil your hair with your favourite hair oil and keep it over night. Next morning, apply the mask to the scalp and give a gentle massage. Let stay for 1-2 hours and wash with you regular shampoo.
Do not forget to oil your hair as the mask can over-dry your hair. This mask will give a shine and smoothness to your hair.
Yoghurt with its astringent, zinc and lactic acid properties is known great for both hair and skin hydration treatments. This mask with a combination of yoghurt and coffee treats problems like dullness, roughness, tan and exfoliation of dead skin.
Ingredients:
Yoghurt (1 tablespoon)
Coffee (1-2 tsp)
Cream (1tsp, optional)
Rice flour (2 tablespoons)
Preparation:
Exfoliating mask: In a bowl, add 2 tablespoons of rice flour and add 1tsp of filter coffee (filter coffee has larger granules than normal coffee that works as a scrub in the mask) to it. Mix it well with yoghurt to get a thick paste.
Usage: Apply the mask by gently massaging it on your skin. The coffee and rice flour granules will remove the dead skin. Wash off the mask after it is dried. Wash it off by giving it a good massage and enjoy your fresh skin.
Hydration mask: Add 1tsp of coffee to yoghurt and mix well. You can also add 1tsp of cream to it.
Usage: Apply the mask by gently massaging it on your skin. Wash it off after 20 minutes.
The mask instantly gives you radiant skin. You can use both the masks one after another for a perfect home face cleanup.
Hair mask: Boil 1tsp of coffee in 1-2 tablespoon of water. Add this water to the yoghurt and mix well.
Usage: Apply on scalp and edges of your hair. Let stay for 2 hours and wash it off with your favourite shampoo.
This mask will make you feel relax with the coolness of yoghurt and fresh fragrance of coffee, with a result of smoother and soft hair.
Fuller’s earth (Multani mitti) has always been the best beauty mask for acne-prone skin. The mask adding with a combination of green tea and tomato can be the best treatment for pigmentation. The cool Fuller’s earth will pamper your skin during the scorching summer heat.
Ingredients:
Fuller’s earth (2-3 tablespoon)
Fresh tomato juice (2 tablespoons)
Green tea (2tsp)
Preparation:
Crush the green tea into smaller beads. In a bowl, mix fuller’s earth and tomato juice. Add the crushed green tea beads and mix well to get a thick paste.
Usage: apply the mask by gently massaging on the skin so that the green tea beads can exfoliate the skin. Let the mask stay for an hour and wash off with cold water. Use twice in a week for treating pigmentation.
