2022-23 FYJC Admissions In Maharashtra To Follow The Online Route

Students across Maharashtra, aiming to secure admission in Junior Colleges are in the midst of the FYJC admissions. In a welcome change from the previous years, all admissions will be done through an online process only. This move was undertaken to ensure a more centralized and streamlined admission process. The online admission process for Standard XI, in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Nashik, Amravati and Nagpur is applicable to all recognized Junior Colleges affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board and it is mandatory for all to participate in the online admission process. Students are required to login on the admissions portal i.e. https://11thadmission.org.in/ with their Application ID and a secure password. After registering, students are required to provide a preference list of colleges of their choice where they desire to take admission. A minimum of one and a maximum of 10 colleges can be filled in this preference form. Students are allotted seats in those colleges as per merit.

A decision that has been lauded by students and parents alike is the move to provide facilities for ‘Quota Admissions’ on the portal itself. Students wishing to apply for In-House Quota, Minority, Management Quota or all of the above can do so by filling a concurrent Preference List. Consequently, the ambiguities often associated with quota based admission have now been eliminated. The process is transparent and available to all students desirous of availing the option.

The rules of the admission process are simple. For students who are allotted their first preference, it is compulsory to take admission in the allotted Junior College. Thereafter, the junior colleges will upload the status of admitted students on their official website. Students who have not been allotted their first preference have the option of continuing to remain in the admission process or to accept admission in the college that they have been allotted to. This process will continue for 3 CAP (Common Admission Process) Rounds. The necessary documents to be submitted at the time of admission are also explicitly mentioned on the website, making it easy for the students to come prepared at the time of securing admission. Furthermore, the School Education and Sports Department of the Government of Maharashtra has provided helpline numbers on the website itself. Prompt and accurate answers are provided upon contacting the helpline numbers. This has greatly aided students who have doubts about filling the form and want to clarify their queries, to reduce the scope of errors.
As of 18th August 2022, the Second merit list for the FYJC admissions is out and there has been a marginal reduction in cut-off marks. Students opting for Commerce and Arts stream are vying for a limited number of seats, while there is an increasing vacancy of seats in the Science stream. In conclusion, the online process of the FYJC admissions has proven to be a success so far, with minimal complaints and delays. The colleges are expected to commence the academic year from September 2022 onwards.
