
Giulio Cappellini, superstar and art director of Istituto Marangoni School of Design, on the occasion of India Design Symposium 2015, held in New Delhi February 13 to 15 spoke about the future scenarios of the design and awarded the Student Category winner of Elle Decor International Design Awards Founded in 1946, Cappellini has become synonymous with contemporary, avant-garde design. Over the years it has launched some of the world’s greatest designers, producing innovative and high quality furnishings. Cappellini is also in the production of modular furniture and solutions for residential and office areas. It is a combination of design and advanced technologies in line with the company’s traditional craftsmanship approach. Cappellini’s presentation, that was scheduled for Friday, February 13, from 14.45, was entitled “Trendspotting: Across products – the next in design”, with the aim of telling, to an audience of enthusiasts, professionals and students, trends and future scenarios around the theme of industrial product. Born in 1954, after taking the degree in Architecture and attending the School for Management Direction at the Bocconi University in Milan, in 1979 Giulio Cappellini became a part of the family firm Cappellini S.p.A., giving it new creative impulses, image first and then management. The Art director of Istituto Marangoni also rewarded the Student Category winner of the Elle Decor International Design Awards with a scholarship offer from Istituto Marangoni. The awards ceremony took place on 12th February, when the India Design Fair 2015 was officially launched. The design students and young designers were delighted with the opportunity to directly interact and engage with Giulio Cappellini at the stand of Istituto Marangoni. Roberto Riccio, Istituto Marangoni Group Managing Director stated that “Marangoni Institute aims to develop the creativity of their students based on the concept of the “Made in Italy” and the legacy of Italian craftsmanship, imbued with strong aesthetic references both to the history of art and that of fashion Italian design.
