Hangout – April 2013

Place and Events for the Month

Fisheteria, Mumbai – Rs. 250 per person

Fisheteria is a chain of fast food outlets which are present in the food courts of different malls in Mumbai.
CUISINE: Seafood is the only fare available in varieties of prawn and fish preparations
FOOD AND DRINKS: The lack of choices is quite a deterrent since you are essentially only choosing between bass fish and prawn in five preparation styles – breadcrumb fried fingers, grilled, wraps and burgers. The food is passable for the good use of spices, but the breadcrumb fried items are too heavily coated to enjoy. Their homemade dips and sauces are quite delicious and go well with the food. The wraps and burgers definitely fare better than the starter items. Another plus is the drinks are refreshing and tasty.
OVERALL IMPRESSION: A decent place, but at the prices and variety, you are better off at most other fast food outlets. Infinity Mall, New Link Road, Oshiwara, Andheri (W), Mumbai 40005

The Biere Club, Bangalore – Rs. 1,200 per person

The Biere Club is Bangalore’s first craft brewery, churning out their own beers to inculcate a a beer culture in the city.
CUISINE: The eats here are mostly finger food and Mediterranean cuisine
FOOD AND DRINKS: The finger food is delicious, particularly the mushroom preparations. Since it has an almost pub-like atmosphere with its wooden tables and décor, the menu options are also pub-style food. The service is quick and the waiters are patient. All their beers are good but it is particularly fun to try their samplers which is a tasting of five of their beers so you can make up your mind about what to drink.
OVERALL IMPRESSION: A fun environment with nice lighting and music. It would be best to visit on a Saturday night; in spite of being crowded and noisy, it has a great atmosphere.
20/2, Vittal Mallya Road, Lavelle Road Area, Bangalore
