The OWASP VIT Student Chapter seeks to raise awareness through a variety of activities and events. Their past events include TetraFlip hackathon, which saw more than 600 participants from all over India, TOVC 1.0, ICRTAC and much more! OWASP foundation works to improve the security of software. The main purpose is to raise awareness for the diverse range of career opportunities available in the field of cybersecurity.
This time, again OWASP is here with their event “WASPCON” sponsored by Scholaa, Wanderlooms, GeeksforGeeks and Youth Incorporated. WASPCON is a 2-day workshop event hosted by OWASP VIT Chennai Student Chapter on the 9th and 10th of October and is targeted for aspiring technical engineers and cyber security enthusiasts. Experienced professionals like Mr. Prathamesh Churi, Mr. Sudhakar Muthumani, Mr. Sagar Patra, Mr. Sachit Bhatia and Mr. Raunak Parmar will be conducting webinars on Introduction to cybersecurity & careers in cybersecurity, Cloud hacking, Android App security and Web app security which will significantly benefit the students. The workshop is packed with fun events and knowledge to understand about the field of cybersecurity and have a taste of what it feels like, even if you haven’t a clue about this field. Their goal is to bring together bright minds to give talks that are idea-focused, and on a wide range of subjects, to foster learning, inspiration and wonder-and provoke conversations that matter. This will be followed by a hands-on CTF and a quiz. There are amazing prizes for winners and of course participants won’t go empty-handed.
