Why this is a big deal is because, with these 50 million Instagram followers, Virat Kohli has become the first Indian celebrity to have the highest number of followers.
Virat Kohli also happens to be the most followed cricketer on Instagram. Virat is an active Instagram user who has uploaded 931 posts. These posts are not just about brand promotions, but about every important activity he undertakes, or every event he attends. Moreover, he also keeps giving his fans a little sneak peek into his personal life where he shares pictures of himself on vacation and the fun he has with his team players. What his fans love the most in his adorable pictures with his wife actress Anushka Sharma.
Seems like his understanding of his fan’s likes helps him to expand his Instagram family with each passing day. It is important to note that Virat has also, time and again, used Instagram to voice his opinions and take a stand on many pressing issues.

The celebrity with the third-highest number of followers is our very own Deepika Padukone who currently has 44.2 million followers. Her timeline holds 1,132 posts.
