Best Theme Songs on TV Shows

Well, every kick-ass show starts with a kick-ass soundtrack. Akshit Chawla brings you such remarkable theme songs that commence some of greatest and glorious shows on television

FRIENDS – I’LL BE THERE FOR YOU BY THE REMBRANDTS
Undoubtedly ‘I’ll be there for you’ is the most iconic television soundtrack ever. This soft rock track by ‘The Rembrandts’ starts off with an amazing guitar riff that won’t stop ringing in your head once you hear it. The lyrics to this song are heart touching and they perfectly capture the emotions of love and affection in a humoristic and whimsical way. This song has always been the signature song for all friends around the world. If you are a friends fan, you can’t help but reminisce in the happy memories of the show.

SUITS – GREENBACK BOOGIE BY IMA ROBOT
You couldn’t get a better song for this TV series than the Greenback Boogie. This pop song has some crazy beats mashed with rock guitar which can hook you up to the song forever. This wacky song is all about money and dance. The lyrics somehow talk about living a larger than normal life in a metaphorical and whimsical way; earning and spending the greenbacks (paper currency used in 1860s in U.S.A.).The song compliments the hard working lives of Harvey and Mike – the lead characters of the show.

THE BIG BANG THEORY- BIG BANG THEORY THEME BY BARENAKED LADIES

This masterpiece by the Canadian rock band Barenaked Ladies has been a big hit for the band as well as the show. Ed Robertson from the band was asked to write the song after the producers of the show attended a concert by Barenaked Ladies (BNL). Ed had read the book “Big Bang” by Simon Singh which helped him write this song about the formation of the wonderfully vast universe. This powerful track has a fast tempo and is full of energy. The catchy and powerful lyrics are inescapable and completely steal the show.

GAME OF THRONES – GAME OF THRONES THEME BY RAMIN DJAWADI

Now this is one of the most recognizable instrumentals of the modern era. The song is cold and chilling and guarantees to snatch your attention. The music is composed by Ramin Djawadi who composes the other tracks used in show as well. Like most of the modern theme songs, there are no lyrics, just the music. The song is highly recognized and appreciated.

ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK – YOU’VE GOT TIME BY REGINA SPEKTOR
‘You’ve got time’ is a brilliant piece of work which is critically acclaimed and appreciated. The fact that this track was nominated in 2014 for the Grammy for ‘Best Song Written for Visual Media’ speaks for itself. This alternate rock music is blessed with the marvelous voice of Regina Spektor which makes the intro of ‘Orange is the New Black’ a hard one to skip.
