The Longest Ride: Voyages into Love

Frankly, it was quite a while since I laid my hands on a romantic novel. But, I thought, why not? It is perfectly juxtaposed for the coming season of love. That being said, a Nicholas Sparks novel is one of the best bets when it comes to romance. And hence, The Longest Ride, Sparks’s newest book was my first preference.
The book treads the journey of two couples, Ira and Ruth and Luke and Sophia, as they go through different stages of their relationships. While Ira and Ruth are an elderly couple, Luke and Sophia are two young lovers.
The story begins with Ira’s fateful car accident that leads to him seeing the image of his dead wife who encourages him to fight out of his ordeal. The story then moves to Luke and Sophia who
meet in the most awkward of situations.
As the story moves ahead, it takes a very surprising turn. While Luke and Sophia embark on a beautiful new journey, Ira’s life takes a drastic turn. In totality, the book is moving and will go down very well with those who enjoy romantic novels and Nicholas Sparks’ writing.
