Book my chotu: Delhi-based start-up provides helpers to stand in the bank and ATM lines

Skip the long bank queues easy…

Yes, you read that right. The long bank queues can be unnerving but nevertheless, we have another budding tech start-up who identified the problem people have been going through and are offering help.

Capitalising on the demonetization and the long queues we are witnessing in banks and ATMs, Bookmychotu.com, the app which provides helpers and handymen for various household and other chores, is now offering to send people to stand in queues in front of ATMs at Rs 90 per hour.

The brainchild behind the inception of this app is Satjeet Singh Bedi who is also the CEO.  An eight-hour shift for a ‘chotu’ i.e the helper costs Rs 550, or Rs 69 per hour.

How to get started?

Just login on the website, fill your details and you’ll get help. There are various packages that can be picked up by the customer which are basically hourly. Starting from Rs 90 to Rs 550.

“Are you short of cash? Need a Helper to stand in Queue of the bank or ATM till the time your turn comes,” asks the Noida-based company in its promo for the service. It also says that the “boys” will not go inside bank or impersonate you.

A chotu is referred to ‘a little one’ and the app assures that all the boys working with them are above 18 years of age. It has been contended that the use of the word ‘chotu’ is for branding purposes and not to hurt any sentiments.
