St Stephen's College Ventures into Business Edcuation

St Stephen’s College of Delhi University has launched a management centre called St Stephen’s Institute for Management Excellence (SSIME). The new institute will offer an Accelerated Development Programme (ADP) for mid-career professionals. Courses are scheduled to begin in October 2011. The programme has been created in partnership with the Jones School of Business at Rice University in Houston, Texas, USA. Post-programme certificates will not be issued from Delhi University since SSIME, albeit closely allied to St Stephen’s College, remains an independent organisation.

Course modules include customer-centric strategy, operations and information, global competitiveness and finance, each of which will be taught by an expert in the area. Guest speakers will also be invited to offer an added insight to different topics as part of this mid-career programme. The institute also plans to offer training and research in business management. The director of SSIME is college alumnus Sanjay Saigal. The institute will run from the India International Centre (IIC).
