Musicians from around the country to perform at concert for freedom of expression
The concert aims to raise awareness about the individual’s right to freedom of expression which is prescribed in the Indian Constitution. Various forms of art and poetry will be on display as well as music of different genres including pop, indie, regional and folk from various parts of India and the world.
Bob Geldof is expected to be one of the biggest international artists to perform at the concert. Famous Indian musicians like Kailash Kher and Kailasa, Avial, Rajasthan Josh, Bastar Band and Soulmate are also expected to rock the stage.
The concert is organised by the entertainment company Teamwork which also organises the Zee Jaipur Literature Festival and the Hay Festival in Kerala. Managing Director of Teamwork Mr.Sanjoy Roy says, “Given the huge potential that art has to generate dialogue and discourse, we hope that through music SOF will be a powerful tool to reaffirm the importance of imagination, creativity and emotion in sustaining and enriching conversations around democracy, freedom and right to freedom of expression.”

The SOF Album will also be released as an extension to the concert. The album is a compilation of songs from genres of acoustic folk, jazz rock, blues, post rock and much more. The album was put together in a span of two months and features the music of students from various colleges in Delhi and NCR.
