Rock Legends Making a Comeback

In the coming months some of the greatest rock-Gods will bestowing us mere mortals with some of their divine music. Yes, Queen, Guns and Roses, AC/DC etc are making a comeback. Don’t know about you, but boy did we miss some unadulterated classic-rock music!

Queen

Freddie Mercury’s over-the-top vocals and soulful lyrics made Queen a pioneer of the rock movement. On 10 November 2014 their new compilation album Queen Forever which includes original tracks and vocals by late lead singer Mercury will be due for release.

Popular songs:  We are the champions, We will rock you, Bohemian Rhapsody

Why we’re waiting: Even after decades their top hits are played regularly at radio stations.

Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd’s last album The Division Bell released in 1994 was the seed for their latest album. Releasing on 7 November, The Endless River includes 20 hours worth of unreleased material all written by the band. What a treat!

Popular songs: Comfortably Numb, Wish You Were Here, Time

Why we’re waiting: In 1980, ‘The Wall’ spent 15 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard. We expect their next album to break more such records.

Guns and Roses

After releasing Chinese Democracy, the band had already finished recording a follow-up and a remix album. After the departure of their main guitarist Slash, fans are waiting to hear the band’s latest creations.

Popular songs: Sweet Child O’ Mine, November Rain, Paradise City

Why we’re waiting: The band’s new guitarist, Daren Jay Ashba claims that Guns and Roses’ newest production reflects their music from the 80s.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Not exactly a comeback but after releasing a critically acclaimed album in 2011, the wait seems too long. RHCP has kept producing upbeat music impressing the changing tastes of their fans and constantly remaining one of the top names in rock.

Popular songs: Snow, Under the bridge and Californication

Why we’re waiting: For 30 years RHCP has stayed committed to their funk rock roots but have still succeeded in re-inventing their music. We can’t wait to see them make some more magic.

AC/DC

You must’ve heard Highway to Hell in countless movies and TV shows; AC/DC was the band behind this timeless classic. Their upcoming album Rock or Bust is only 35 minutes long and was made without founder and rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young.

Popular songs: Back in Black, For those about to Rock

Why we’re waiting: After Young’s retirement due to health reasons, we are curious to see how the band copes with his absence.
