Pastels Are The New Chic In The Indian Celeb Weddings

Heavy embroidered bright red lehengas were a go-to for Indian celeb brides just a few years back. Now, celeb weddings have become an entirely new affair altogether with the couple having destination weddings, keeping the guests’ list as limited as possible, and breaking the news of their marriage by posting the same pictures and captions on their respective social media handles. There is an ever-bigger shift which has happened in the wedding attire of the bride and groom. Pastels have become everyone’s favourite making the celeb’s wedding look fashionable enough yet maintaining elegant simplicity.

When was the last time we saw more celeb brides donning a shiny red lehenga? Definitely not in the recent past. Pastels have been dominating the wedding fashion space for over a year now and we have our celebrities to credit, for setting this trend.

Be it Anushka and Virat, Neha and Angad, Alia and Ranbir, or the very recent Kiara and Sidhart wedding, all the celebrities basked in the pastel shades, looking perfectly gorgeous.

The jewellery and makeup paired with these pastel-coloured outfits are the cherries on the cake. The soft rose make-up of Kiara Advani was well-matched with not only her lehenga but also her chuda. Her make-up was kept minimal which made her look even more radiant. Brushed-up brows and mascara lad lashes enhanced her facial features. The groom, Sidharth Malhotra paired with his beloved pulled off a gold embroidered sherwani. The outfit also had hints of ivory threadwork, gold zardozi and badla work.

The decision of the bride and groom to opt for golden, diamond and emerald jewellery was also very well thought out and helped bring out their look even more.

The trend of going with a pastel minimal look for weddings which our celebrities have set, is indicative of the modern style we are adopting while also keeping our Indian culture and heritage alive by ways of choosing Indian wear, wearing the nuptial chain, smearing sindoor or applying a red bindi, wearing chuda and also dangling the kaliras

If you are on your way to tying the knot with your special one, you can definitely try out these inspired celeb wedding looks and say yes to the trend of pastels.
