The scoop: Given that Anna Kendrick is a movie star and only recorded the song for the movie Pitch Perfect, we really hope she considers a career in music so we get more quality songs.

 

Artist: Icona Pop

5 minutes of fame: I Love It

The scoop: This synthpop song shot to fame early last year and was played everywhere but the Swedish girl duo hasn’t given us anything interesting since.

 

Artist: Baauer

5 minutes of fame: Harlem Shake

The scoop: The world was so lost to the Harlem Shake that it didn’t realise Baauer had nothing more to offer. Maybe that was a blessing in disguise.

 

Artist: Gotye

5 minutes of fame: Somebody that I used to know

The scoop: This song was so epic it had memes and t-shirts to follow but we really expected Gotye to give us some more hits.

5 minutes of fame: Gangnam Style

The scoop: Gentleman almost made us believe in the talent of Psy but since it didn’t manage to emulate the standards set by Gangnam Style, we are still waiting for the next big thing from the artist.
