NUTRICEPTION 2020-An Enthralling Celebration Of National Nutrition Month by SNCW

What doesn’t kill you ONLY makes you stronger.

The lines the entire world MUST be rooting for in this Pandemic interestingly enough has been the catchline of the BIGGEST NUTRIFEST OF EASTERN INDIA, NUTRICEPTION 2020 organized by Sarojini Naidu College for Women (Food and Nutrition Department). If we quote the Convener of NUTRICEPTION 2020 Dt Rima Mandal (HOD, Dept of Food and Nutrition, SNCW) “When the going gets tough, the tough get going”. She says, ‘We have planned this event a lot earlier in conjunction with our Prime Minister’s appeal of Poshan Month celebration but Corona and the nationwide lockdown robbed us off the opportunity to go live. We had a choice to back off but we decided to carry on and bring the entire programme to a digital platform pertaining to the idea of a NEW DIGITAL INDIA and now we are happy to have a platform where we are getting massive responses from all corners of India. We also thank all our partners to help us make the event reach the masses and create a platform for Nutrition Awareness and Virtual Talent Showcasing from all over India. We are extremely glad to inform that we have also got responses from Bangladesh, Malaysia, Singapore, and a few European countries as well. We look forward to bring this event Live next year along with Online Virtual Events’.

Nutriception 2020 is the celebration of National Nutrition Month of Sarojini Naidu College for Women, a college in North Kolkata. It envisions the spread of Nutriknowledge and awareness through various online events like NUTRIMETRIX: National E-Nutri-Quiz Competition, MENU WITHOUT MAGMA: National Level No Gas Cooking Competition, NUTRIFY-INDIA: National E-Poster Making and Demonstration Competition and BE THE FOOD DOCTOR: National E-Nutri-Slogan Writing Competition.

Nutriception signifies the indomitable spirit of  Inception of Nutrition Education and knowledge among the grassroots population with a Malnutrition free New India in the years to come. Nutriception strives to work in the community and with the community in busting the myths about Nutrition and Diet and inculcating proper knowledge about knowing our own body needs. Nutriception is also a National Platform to showcase the talent by students and teachers alike and fostering a sense of unity among the Nutrition Fraternity.

The convener also thanks the Principal of SNCW (Dr. Urmila Ukil) and the IQAC Coordinator of SNCW (Dr. Sudeshna Chattejee) for allowing a smooth passage and conducive environment for organizing an event of National Importance.
