The Nobel Prize, one of the highest laureates in the world was awarded recently in the fields of academic, cultural and scientific progression. The awards for 2016 were given in six categories to distinguished personalities.
The illustrious list of Nobel Prize 2016 winners are:
David J Thouless, F.Duncan M Haldane and J Michael Kosterlitz- Nobel Prize in Physics
They were awarded for their theoretical discoveries of topological phase transitions and topological phases of matter.
Jean-Pierre Sauvage, Sir J. Fraser Stoddart and Bernard L. Feringa– Nobel Prize in Chemistry
They were awarded for design and synthesis of molecular machines.
Yoshinori Ohsumi- Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine
He was awarded for his discoveries of mechanisms for autophagy.
Bob Dylan- Nobel Prize in Literature
He was awarded for creating new poetic expressions within the American tradition of song.
Juan Manuel Santos- Nobel Peace Prize
He was awarded for his resolute efforts to bring the over 50 year old Columbian civil war to an end.
Oliver Hart and Bengt Holmstrom- The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2016
