Germany’s warships to patrol the Indian Ocean today

Germany’s defence minister introduced one of many nation’s warships that will patrol the Indian Ocean as a part of plans to handle China’s effect within the area. On Monday, Harsh Shringla, the International secretary conducted talks in Berlin to boost cooperation in areas starting from post-pandemic restoration to the Indo-Pacific.

19 passengers on Vande Bharat Mission Flight to Wuhan test COVID-19 positive

A total of 19 Indian passengers were tested COVID-19 positive in a recent flight from New Delhi to the Chinese city of Wuhan under the Vande Bharat Mission (VBM). Moreover, on Monday, India announced plans to operate four more such flights to China starting November 13.

Tamil Nadu govt announces Diwali bonus for over 2.91 lakh employees

The Tamil Nadu government has announced that around 2.91 lakh state government employees will be offered a Diwali bonus. Workers and employees belonging to Group ‘C’ and ‘D’, working in all profit/loss-making public sector undertakings will receive a bonus of 8.33 per cent and an ex-gratia payment of 1.67 percent, the government statement added.

PM Boris Johnson announced England would go into a one-month lockdown starting from November 5 until December 2. Under the new lockdown restrictions, citizens will have to stay at home unless it’s for essential purposes, including education, medical reasons, or to shop for groceries.

French school hold minutes silence in memory of the beheaded teacher

Schools in France held a minute’s silence on Monday in memory of Samuel Paty, the teacher who was beheaded by a Chechen teenager for making use of cartoons to show Prophet Mohammad while teaching the class, freedom of expression.

Artwork saves metro train from falling after it crashes through buffer stop

A metro in the Netherlands overran from its track and stopped at the sculpture of the Whale Tail, an artwork named, “Saved by the Whale’s Tail,” which now seems apt. Installed in 2002, the artwork was completely made of plastic. On hearing about this incident, its designer seemed surprised it could hold a moving train.

BMC starts free COVID-19 testing at 244 facilities in Mumbai

These 244 COVID-19 testing centers are distributed across all 24 wards. BMC’s free COVID testing facility will be available at designated places every day from 10 am to 12 noon.The addresses of the testing centres will be available by calling toll free number 1916 managed by the BMC’s main control room, and on the COVID-19 dedicated link.
