The Maharashtra government has granted permission to reopen water sports, nauka vihar, amusement parks, indoor entertainment activities, and tourist places located outside containment zones. The SOPs for all of these activities will soon be issued by the concerned departments. As of Tuesday, the state reported 3,106 new COVID-19 cases.
Starting today, the government of Karnataka has imposed night curfew between 10 pm and 6 am in the state, informed Chief Minister M BS Yediyurappa. This curfew is an action by the government to curb the spread of the new coronavirus strain that has recently been detected in the UK. This curfew will remain in place till January 2. This decision comes after the CM met with the Health Minister and Technical committee.
The popular Jallikattu events are soon going to resume in the state, as the Tamil Nadu government has granted permission for the same with certain restrictions. These include allowing no more than 300 players to play at Jallikattu events, while it cannot be more than 150 for bull racing events. All the players will be expected to provide COVID-19 negative certificates. The number of spectators too cannot exceed 50% of the total capacity in open spaces.

An agreement has been signed between the government and the World Bank for a $500 million project that aims to build a “safe and green” national highway corridor in the states of Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh. For this project, 783 km of highways will be constructed in various geographies by putting eco-friendly and safe technology designs like industrial byproducts, into use, the Finance Ministry informed.
