Free coaching to be provided to Civil Service aspirants by Rajasthan Govt

The Rajasthan government has decided to provide free coaching to aspiring civil services aspirants belonging to various tribes and Sahariya community,  Arjun Bamania announced. He is the Minister of State for Tribal and Regional Development. The government has promised that reputed institutions will be taking these free online coaching classes to students preparing for competitive examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). 

Delhi schools to remain shut for all students till October 5

The government of Delhi has announced that schools, private and government, must remain closed till October 5 for all students. “However, online classes and teaching-learning activities will continue as usual,” an order issues by the Directorate of Education said. School principals can call staff member as per requirement to conduct the online classes easily and also for any other work. 

10th, 12th compartment exams of UP board to be held in October

The UP Board’s High School and Intermediate Improvement/Compartment Examinations are going to be conducted on October 3. The exams are to be held in two shifts: 8am to 11.15am and 2pm to 5.15pm, as per the schedule issues by the board. The exams will be held at around 163 centres in the state including 82 centres for high school students, 81 centres for intermediate students, officials of the board informed. Considering the pandemic situation, all necessary precautionary measures too, will be taken. 

Teachers of Tamil Nadu govt school raises money to provide smart phones to pupils

A group of teachers from a government school in Tamil Nadu have come together and raised money to provide smart phones to students so that they all have access to online classes. The teachers purchased 28 smartphones and SIM cards and distributed it to the students, as reported in the Indian Express. Furthermore, an MLA from Perambalur, R Tamilselvan also contributed towards this initiative by donating money to the school. 

3 terrorists belonging to LeT arrested in J&K, arms seized

Three terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were arrested from Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district by security forces on Saturday. The terrorists used to orignally be placed in the Pulwama district and had travelled to Rajouri to collect weapons dropped by the Pakistani drones. “Arms and ammunition were recovered, including two AK-56 rifles, two pistols, four grenades and ₹1 lakh in cash,” the police said in a statement. 

Ruth Ginsburg, reputed associate justice of US Supreme Court passes away at 87

The world is mourning at the dmise of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the second woman to sit on US Supreme Court. She was 87 years old. Ginsburg breathed her last at her home in Washington and succumed to death due to complications from metastatic pancreatic cancer, Speaking about her demis, Chief Justice John Roberts said, “US has lost a jurist of historic stature.”

‘Old normal’ to return by mid 2021 whether COVID-19 vaccine comes or not: AIIMS

Head-Community Medicine Department, Dr Sanjay Rai of AIIMS, has predicted that there is a possibility of India returning to normalcy by mid-next year whether irrespective of the arrival of COVID-19 vaccine. “Till the time there is no effective vaccine available, COVID-19 preventive measures like wearing masks and hand hygiene should be followed,” he informed.

FM says GST Council will decide on how to give compensation to states

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that the union government  is “not going back on its promise” of paying the Goods and Services Tax (GST) compensation to states. “Even if we are in…Act of God situation…we will discuss in the Council how to give compensation to the states…Council will take a call on how to borrow to meet the gap,” the minister said.

Google Drive will now automatically delete trash files after 30 days

From October 13th, Google Drive trash files will be automatically deleted after 30 days. This was not the case earlier. Until the user emptied the trashed item, they were retained indefinitely. Users will be shown banners with details of change.The changes will affect items that are trashed from any device and any platform.

Paytm back on Play Store hours after it was removed by Google

Hours after Google took out Paytm from its Play Store for violating its policies on Gambling, it was up back agai “We assure all our users that their balances and linked accounts are 100% safe. Our services are fully functional on all existing apps,” Paytm had earlier assured its users.
