UP govt to give jobs to 50 lakh youths by March 2021

Uttar Pradesh government is preparing to launch a campaign that is going to help in providing jobs to 50 lakh youth by March 2021. The campaign named Mission Rojgar is most likely to be launched after Diwali by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Based on the statements provided by the officials involved in the launch of the campaign, those unemployed are going to be provided with the opportunity to apply in government departments, councils, corporations, and private sectors too.

TN govt decides to postpone reopening of schools for classes 9-12 to December

The decision to reopen schools from November 16th for students of 9-12 was reversed after the Tamil Nadu government discussed it with parents and school administrations. A new date will soon be announced depending upon the prevailing situation. For PhD students and final-year PG students from science and technical courses, the colleges will reopen from December 2.

Digital news and OTT platforms now under union government’s I&B ministry

The government of India has now decided that the online media, including entertainment, film, and news platforms, will fall under the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The decision passed and signed by President Ram Nath Kovind covers “Digital/ Online Media”, including “films and audio-visual programmes made available by online content providers” and “news and current affairs content on online platforms”. Online content providers, such as Netflix, Amazon and Hotstar, and news platforms, previously operated under the legal framework of the Information Technology Act, 2000 but, unlike print and broadcast media, were not directly under any Ministry.

NASA to bring Mars rock samples back to Earth

NASA is all set to attempt a first of its kind feat of bringing a sample of Mars back to Earth for scientific study purpose. The announcement of the same was made on November 10 under the Mars Sample Return (MSR) mission. These rocks collected from Mars will be a huge step towards space exploration. The mission will be carried out by NASA in an international partnership with ESA (European Space Agency).

Georgia to re-count all presidential ballots by hand

Although Joe Biden has become America’s president, the state of Georgia will be re-counting all paper ballots cast on November 3 for the presidential election by hand, which will be completed by November 20. President Biden secured more than the 270 electoral college votes, a milestone needed to achieve the presidency by winning Pennsylvania after four tense days of counting, which led to a delay due to the mail-in ballots as a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless, adding Georgia vote count would only add to Biden’s margin of victory.

Pak admits the presence of 11 terrorists on its soil who facilitated 26/11 attacks

Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has come clean and admitted the presence of 11 terrorists who facilitated the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks on its soil. The agency informed that Muhammad Amjad Khan made the purchase of a boat that was used for the attack while Shahid Gafoor captained it apart from 9 crew members. The agency also provided a 1,200-name long list of most-wanted terrorists which still doesn’t include Hafiz Saeed and Dawood Ibrahim.

Arnab Goswami released from jail after SC grants interim bail; pics surface

Arnab Goswami, Republic TV’s Editor-in-Chief was released from Mumbai’s Taloja Jail, after he moved the Supreme Court seeking for interim bail in the 2018 abetment to suicide case. A video showed him emerge from the sunroof of a car was all over social media in which a crowd was seen gathering outside the prison. He and other co-accused were released on a bond of ₹50,000 each.

Free unlimited storage of Google Photos to end on June 1, 2021

Google Photos has announced its decision to end free, unlimited storage for high-quality photos from June 1, 2021. Any new photos and videos added will then start counting toward the free 15GB Google Account storage.

Actor Asif Basra, who worked in web series Paatal Lok and film Kai Po Che, was found dead in his private complex in Dharamshala located in Himachal Pradesh. The police have begun an investigation of the 53-year-old actor’s death.
