The police of Assam have carried out the arrest of 21 people for misappropriating the use of the Pre-Matric Scholarship fund for minority students from 2018-2020. According to the police, Mahmood Hassan, Assam Minority Development Board and State Nodal Officer had filed an FIR. This arrest comes three days after the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, which offers this scholarship decided to ask the CBI to investigate the nexus that also roped in schools from Punjab and Assam.
