Most Bizarre Inventions The World Has To Offer

Inventions have played a very important part of our lives and in the evolution of the world around us. Cooking, cleaning, and in a way even eating without inventions like the plate or spoon have become impossible. But, there are some inventions which have not quite caught on for their sheer bizarreness and total impracticality. Let us look at some of these.

Tomatan

Tomatan is a wearable robot which is worn by marathon runners. The bot has a tomato-shaped head which dispenses tomatoes from its storage and circular arms feed it to the runner. This unique bot is said to be a great invention by its creators Kagome because they claim that runners need the nutrition of tomatoes while running. Kagome is a Japanese ketchup and juice company.

Edible Phone Covers

Another bizarre Japanese invention, this one is less bizarre for what is than the cost of the product. This fragile phone cover, which doesn’t even protect your phone, costs a whopping $80. Sure, you can snack on the phone cover which is made of rice, but one can be certain that rice cakes are cheaper at the grocery store.

Pizza Scissors

Probably the least bizarre invention in the list, the pizza scissors are shaped in such a way that it becomes easy for pizzas to be cut into their appetising triangles and be served at the same time. This invention though bizarre is becoming popular among pizza fans as it is easy to use. Pizza scissors are currently available on sites like Amazon and E-bay.

Hoodie Pillow

Hoodie Pillow is another successful bizarre invention in which the pillow comes with an attachable hoodie which can be used to warm one’s head. The pillow is available on Amazon and is basically used cover the eyes and head for warmness and also so that the eyes aren’t disturbed by the light.

Moustache Shield

Invented in the 1800s when moustaches were treasured by men, this invention took it to an all new level. The piece of cloth was supposed to shield the moustache against food and drinks when the person was snacking. Well, old-timers do always say that they used to look after their bodies better in the yesteryears.

Snow Protectors

This Canadian invention is a conical mask which looks like a beak which is worn on the face to protect the face from snowstorms. The 1930s invention is bizarre for its Gothic look. It seems people those days were really concerned about protecting their faces.

Diet Water

Diet water is another brainchild of Japan. This came to the shelves 2004 and no one has any idea as to why it helps in weight loss, or why it is different from regular water in any way. This bizarre invention probably stems out of the Japanese law that doesn’t permit anybody except Sumo wrestlers to be obese. People fear facing the embarrassment of going to a government training centre and buy into all these strange products.

Karthik Nair

Karthik Nair is currently pursuing his degree in Media and Communications and is an avid writer of poetry and articles. His interest lies in travelling and writing about food and culture and hopes one day to bring out the fun aspects of journalism rather than its current dark demeanour.
