Lilly Singh to be the first openly Bisexual woman of Indian origin to host a late night talk show on NBC

Our very own Lilly Singh has bagged the Late Night, joining the boys club and making her mark as the first woman of Indian origin to achieve such a high profile gig. The Indian-Canadian woman will be taking over Carson Daly’s 1:30 AM slot on NBC.

‘A Little Late with Lilly Singh’ will see the You Tuber host celebrity interviews, as well as feature pre-taped comedy satires, and other “signature elements”. The show will start airing from September 2019.

Paving the way for future endeavors, the social media star has gotten her very own late-night TV Show called, ‘A Little Late with Lilly Singh.’ One of the very few women to host a late-night talk show on a broadcast network, Lilly has joined the inner circle that includes Busy Phillips and Samantha Bee.

This ‘Superwoman’ first came into the limelight in 2010 through her YouTube channel called IISuperwomanII which has currently 14 million subscribers. She gained popularity among people all over the world for her sarcastic yet spot-on take on gender relations, MRI mannerisms, and typical behaviors of Indian parents, irrespective of the country they live in. She grew up in Toronto, Ontario with her parents and her older sister, Tina Singh who is also a YouTube Star.

Lily Singh made the official statement while she appeared on another late night show, ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.’

After coming out to the public as a bisexual on Twitter, she was met with massive encouragement and support on social media from people of all genders, sexualities, and skin tones. Her post read “Female, Coloured, Bisexual” along with checkboxes besides them ticked green. This also makes her the first openly bisexual woman of color to host a late night talk show on broadcast television.

Besides being a fabulous actress on Fahrenheit 451, an author of ‘How to be a Bawse’ which was New York Times best seller, she’s also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador who started a campaign “GirlLove” which encourages girls to end girl-on-girl hate.

Is there anything this Superwoman can’t do?
