Kickstart Your Startup Journey With Tech And Innovation Fair

Officially launched in 2018, Tech and Innovation fair (TIF) is the flagship competition of Shaastra, the annual tech fest of IIT Madras.

TIF aims to provide a platform for budding entrepreneurs to develop their tech-based projects and prototypes into a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). The prototypes can be from various fields like robotics, healthcare, biotechnology, agriculture, and IoT.

TIF begins with online submissions of detailed descriptions of the product, pictures of the prototype, and its utility and application. The shortlisted participants will then proceed to the next round.

The teams undergo multiple stages of guidance and mentorship sessions from industry experts. Throughout the competition, the participants will receive professional assistance through networking with our mentors from establishments categorized under venture capitalists, angel investors, and other experts. Workshops on topics like product design and business management will be conducted.

During Shaastra, the participants will exhibit their products to the massive crowd that attends India’s largest student-run tech fest making it the experience of a lifetime. The exposure they get through this is unparalleled as Shaastra is attended by various founders, researchers, scientists, and professionals.

Tech And Innovation Fair (TIF) culminates in a pitching event at IITM Research Park, where the judges choose the top three teams. The winners will get the opportunity to connect with the IITM Incubation Cell for further development of their idea and product into a startup.
