* Indian Association for Cultivation of Sciences (IACS) and the Jadaypur University collaborate with the aim of providing students with IACS’s research facilities and high end apparatuses without having to seek courses abroad.
* 10 students will be selected through an interview and admission test for the programme and begin in August 2016. Selected students will be provided a monthly stipend of Rs. 12000 for two years.
* The teaching team at the University and students can use the sophisticated research equipment (like an X-ray refractometer, high resolution XDR among others) for 25% of the fees imposed on outsiders. “For the selected students and the faculty, this would be a rare opportunity to exploit the best available facilities in the country,” said Soumitra Sengupta, dean (academics), IACS.
* Apart from the research instruments, the integrated MSc course will also provide exposure to IACS’ faculty research. The selected students will be a part of joint research projects conducted by the Jadaypur University and IACS.
