New course to cater to working professionals in capital of Tamil Nadu
The first year of the programme will cover the same syllabus as the postgraduate programme in business management (PGPBM) offered by the same institute. The second year will cover core concepts and application-based courses in human resource management. Students will have the option to specialise in either one of employee relations, organisation development and change, human resources analytics, employee engagement or global human resources and diversity.
The term of the course will be three years and will be conducted with four evening classes a week. The course will not be considered a part-time programme but will be labelled as an executive course. Since it is a programme for working professionals, the institute will not conduct an placement services at the end of the course.
Those with minimum of three years work experience are eligible for the course. Students will be shortlisted on the basis of their CV, a written test and an interview. Applicants who possess valid CAT or GMAT scores will not be required to appear or the written test.
The first batch of the course will commence in July 2014. The course fees are Rs 10 lakh.
