Film appreciation summer school at FTII

The prestigious institute will hold the 39th edition of its summer course

The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) will organise the 39th edition of its four-week summer film appreciation course. The course will commence on 2 June and end on 28 June and will be held at the National Film Archive of India and the Film and Television Institute of India.

The students will be accommodated on campus in the FTII hostels since the course is a full-time programme.

Participants of the course will be given new understandings and insights into the nature of filmmaking through the course. The theory of art, history of film development of cinema as a form of art and communication will be the main part of the curriculum. New Media will also be taught in the curriculum with a focus on independent films, digital art and other new diverse practices.

The course will also include a face-to-face interaction with filmmakers. They will be given a chance to discuss and debate new films in the industry with the filmmakers themselves.

English is the official medium of instruction for the course.
