The 11th edition of Elan and ηvision is the annual techno-cultural fest of IIT Hyderabad – one of the finest institutions of India is going to take place from 14 to 16 of February at IITH. This year’s theme is ‘Into Elysium’- a mystical place of eternal happiness and peace. Elan and ηvision has been a singularity of the amalgamation of innovation, technology, culture, fun, knowledge, and joy, turning IITH into a ‘Shangri la’ for the lakhs that had visited us. This year it promises to be bigger and better.
Elan and ηvision offer a wide array of technical events, Workshops and Hackathons for all domains of engineering and science, including Project exhibition, Paper presentation, Classical Coding, and Hacking competitions, Robust Robotic events, AI and ML challenges, Aero & Design, IoT and Electronics Contests to name a few. Annually, these challenges attract thousands of geeks from all over the country who seek to prove themselves amidst some smartest budding minds of our country.
The Cultural half of the fest includes Various types & styles of dance, singing, rapping, art, drama, Battle of Bands, film-making, stand up & modeling competitions, including Hip Hop International India’s Hyderabad auditions, and Femina Miss India’s Campus Princess. This edition of the fest also boasted a separate literature fiesta, the online LitFest – comprising of various creative events for literature lovers and Cryptex -our very own 54-hour long online treasure hunt, which saw high participation from people all over the world. The fun-filled Informal games such as LAN gaming, Treasure hunts happening throughout the fest will surely give people a lot of memories to look back upon.
The previous editions of the fest have seen amazing shows by Benny Dayal, Shirley Setia, Kailash Kher, Divine, Rave Radio, The Local Train, and numerous other artists, to name a few. Abhishek Upamnyu, Darshan Raval, Rave Republic, When Chai Met Toast and The Yellow diary are going to perform, sprinkling their stardust on our sparkling fest this year.
With the amount of influence that we have to our name, we have always felt hugely responsible for bringing a change in society by tackling the problems that haunt our community. Each year the fest promotes a Social Cause to bring awareness and bring about reforms. The 9th edition was graced by Vijay Devarakonda, the popular cinema actor, as he supported our social cause campaign of an eco-friendly world. This year’s Social Cause theme is ‘Women’s Security,’ a burning issue in society since India’s Independence. We believe in our strength, morale, and innovative methods to make the lives of millions of women better and have worked in the right direction.
The theme ‘Into Elysium’ is our vision of making this world a happier place for everyone, and Elan & ηvision 2020 is merely a physical manifestation of the grand act of our Utopian Vision.
