The Bringer Of Remix Fever In India

A man who bought the remix fever to India in the early 2000s when remixes were losing its shine, DJ Suketu is the most renowned remixer and DJ of India. From giving hit tracks like ‘Bin Tere Sanam’ and ‘Woh Lamhe’ to the very recent ‘Tareefan’ remix and ‘La La La’ from the movie Bazaar, DJ Suketu has a charm that is very different from all the others in the Indian music industry.

DJ Sukteu has always been carefree and never feared to take progressive steps in life. It is this attitude of his that gave him the courage to follow his heart. Initially wanting to become a professional tabla player, DJ Suketu was lured into becoming a DJ soon after he entered the fancy world of college. Reminiscing his college days, he mentions how he was attracted towards the DJs who visited his college for various campus events and how he too yearned to become one of them.

It is this yearning of his that encouraged him to pursue a career as a DJ straight out of college. The DJ has till now collaborated and worked with various known music personalities like Vishal Shekhar, Atif Aslam, Shankar-Ehsan-Loy, Pritam and many more.

DJ Suketu is not just a talent restricted to our nation. This can be well justified with the fact that he has been the winner of the DMC (Disco Mix Club) World DJ Championship of 1999 too. Further, his tracks like ‘Pyaar Zindagi Hai’, ‘Bin Tere Sanam’, ‘Woh Lamhe’, ‘Kya Khoob Lagti Ho’, etc won him immense fans and awards too which took him to great heights of success.

After working for so many years in the industry and rolling out hit remixes, DJ Suketu has now ventured in the field of event management by establishing his own event management firm named YNO (Your Night Out) that helps its clients organise and host perfect celebrations. He himself being a part of the entertainment industry is a great benefit for his firm, states the DJ as he believes that not just a degree, but a strong practical experience too is required to give your clients the best of your services.

A man like him is a storehouse of interesting stories. We had a really fun interaction with him filled with stories, music and laughs. When asked about DJing as a career, he had a lot to say. Want to know what he said, click below and watch our fun interview with him.
