Delhi cops thrash student protestors

A PHD scholar, Rohith Vemula committed suicide after being expelled from his hostel because of a clash with a BJP wing. Enraged by the incident, a group of students in Delhi started protesting against the RSS and the BJP government. The protest took place outside the RSS office in Jhandewalan, New Delhi.

However their protest went ugly when the Delhi police lathi charged the students. According to a video released by one of the protestors, the cops did not even spare the women. The video showed how a policeman slapped a woman and then threw her to the ground by pulling her hair.

The thrashing on the unarmed students by the cops is being highly criticized and even the media covering the incident became victim of the gory incident. This is not the first time that the Delhi cops mishandled a situation by violently attacking the citizens protesting against the injustice and wrong doings of the government.

However, DCP (Central) Parmaditya told PTI “No protesters were detained and no force had to be used at all.”

Some protestors even claim that along with the police were RSS supporters who allegedly assaulted them. The cops did not take any action against them.
