COGNIZANCE 2021 | The Annual Technical Fest of IIT Roorkee

As the spring is almost in the air, IIT Roorkee proudly presents Cognizance 2021, a plethora of exciting events which are going to be held completely online for the first time in the history, driven by the theme “Elusive Realities”. Cognizance provides ingenious students with a platform for displaying their technical acumen through over broad spectrum of competitions, workshops, and events conducted in it.

Cognizance codifies ICC, a coding challenge exploiting both patience and programming skills of participants captioning basic string manipulation to dynamic complex programming; Codathon, an event questioning the mettle and coding skills, challenging the UI/UX skills under Design Quest, and a lot more. Cognizance also presents an exclusive event, Aero-Vacx which will involve designing a CAD Model of a drone that will provide assistance in transporting the vaccines in isolated areas. To provide knowledge and skills in technical fields like ethical hacking, web development, cloud computing, app development, IoT, Mercedes engine, embedded systems, machine learning, and AI, various multifaceted workshops are effectively planned throughout the fest.

Further, To expand its spectrum towards finance & management, Cognizance will witness CogniStreet, Alankan, Marketorama, and workshops like Quantitative Finance, Machine Learning in Finance, will be a traders paradise. The incorporation of departmental events and workshops involving a paper presentation of research work conducted by participants in the presence of professors from each department of IIT Roorkee is the core interest of various researchers of our country. There’s also a wide room for examining the minds of skilled gamers in Valorant, CS GO, COD mobile , and FIFA, providing them to win prize money worth up to 1 Lakhs. To magnify the blend of art, technology, and to explore the innovative ideas of different students around the country, Cognizance introduces Techzibition, a prominent platform for the students to showcase their innovations. This edition also takes ahead the “Innovation Conclave” which aims at solving the major problems or issues of the society that requires brainstorming of the young minds of the nation.

Cognizance 2021 will be honored to be graced by the esteemed presence of nobel Laureates Prof. Robert Aumann and Prof. Ada Yonath, and other eminent speakers like Dr. V.K Saraswat, Prof. Sankar K Pal, Arun Kumar Singh, Amar Nagaram and Sudarshan Sarma are coordinately invited for Guest Lectures to boost knowledge in their expertise area and inspire the young minds by their achievements and experiences. Cognizance agglomerates over 200 events in its store encompassing every wavelength of the technical spectrum rewarding prizes over Rs 10 lakhs and various goodies to the commendable and worthy victors. The previous edition of this technical confluence turned out to be an unparalleled success which was concluded with the astonishing performances by captivating artists, KK, Zakir Khan, Anish Sood and many more.
