The three-day sports festival attracted students/participants from all across the nation, Blaze’20 organized by the sports club of NMIMS University’s School of Commerce ASMOC, aimed at encourage spirit of sportsmanship and unity amongst all came to end a sublime confluence on 2nd, February, 2019.
The Sports Club held its much awaited National Sports Festival, Blaze annually where sports enthusiasts from all around the country came together to showcase their skills in two of Blaze’s sporting events – Basketball and Football.
This year, marked the 3rd edition of Blaze, and with its new edition it was packed with rigour, enthusiasm, zest and zeal and highlights the passion and dedication of the participants towards their respective sports.
This year, Blaze was held at the Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai from the 31st of January – 2nd of February’20.
The football playground serves as the official venue for the Roots Premier League, the official home ground for All Stars FC led by Mr Abhishek Bachchan and it also serves as the training ground for the La Liga Schools.
This advanced Sports Playground served as the silver lining for Blaze’20. Besides the annual football and basketball event at Blaze, this edition of brought with it many other activities that kept the participants and the spectators entertained.
The fest saw a participation of 50 colleges with 1000+ students who came from in and around Maharashtra with the likes of BITS Goa, GNLU, SRCC, Flame coming from Goa, Gujarat, Delhi and Pune respectively.
Teams from Mumbai included ISME, IISM, St. Andrews, NMIMS School of Economics, Law and many more.
Winners from football and basketball
IISM emerged victorious in the boys football event. ISME finished second followed by RGIT.
ISSM’s David and Siddharth won the Golden Boot award and Golden Glove award respectively.
In the girls football event, NASM clinched the first place after beating NMIMS ASMSOC in the final, while KC College secured third place.
KC College’s Atiriya won the Golden Boot award.
The final match of the basketball was a battle of the best, where colleges from across the nation competed for supremacy over one other. In the end, RJ College clinched the first place after securing closely-fought win over KJ Somaiya in the final, while Thakur College finished third.
Salman Khan from RJ College adjudged as the Most Valuable Player of this year’s edition.
Girls basketball also witnessed some of the best talents and their creativity in this Blaze’20.
St. Andrews college girls played against KC College in a fierce game of basketball and emerged victorious. BITS Goa secured the third place, with Dancia Pereira won the Most Valuable Player award.

For the couple of teams that came from out of the city, we collaborated with Karvaan that offered tickets through multiple modes of transportation at discounted rates.
