Blast from the Past

The 80s and the 90s are not exactly known for being stylish and fashionable decades, but they’re maki ng a comeback anyway. We pick some of the more tolerable items from that time that are currently hot

LET ME CHECK THE CARGO IN MY PANTS
Yep, cargo pants are back. They are best remembered as the whiteboy- rapper ’s go -to pants (think Vanilla Ice and a very blonde Eminem). Maybe it’s time for a reinvention?

Polo Ralph Lauren – Rs. 8000

Timberland – Rs. 8490

Jessi Jordan – Rs. 2399

Lee Cooper – Rs. 2699

Urban Outfitters – Rs. 3000

STOMPING AROUND
Everyone was obsessed with Timberland boots in the 90s and it seems everyone will be obsessed with them and their lookalikes again this year. Rappers like Kanye West, Chris Brown and Kendrick Lamar have been spotted wearing the rugged boots in public.

Topman – Rs. 3500

Wrangler – Rs. 1386

ASOS – Rs. 5500

IT’S JUST A JACKET, NOT A BOMB
Every boy in the early 90s wore printed bomber jackets, thanks to Will Smith’s style in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Now, Will Smith notwithstanding, these jackets are back with a bang (pun unintended).

DON’T WASTE THAT WAIST

High waist shorts, especially in denim, were all the rage in the good old days before they vanished. Now, thanks to Miley Cyrus, they’ve seen resurgence in popularity.

Elle – Rs. 1600

Blank Denim – Rs. 4914

Forever 21 – Rs. 2995

Plush – Rs. 4725

French Connection – Rs. 2499

Blue Stripes – Rs. 699

Femella – Rs. 790

COMFORT OVER FASHION
You could argue that leggings and oversize tops never went out of style, but they did for a while in the early 2000s. They’re the only happy carry-on from the past.

GOING BUST
Bustier tops were a staple of the 90s when they emerged from under the clothes and became outerwear. Now it seems they’re coming up for air again.

Funktional – Rs. 3780

Lamora – Rs. 599

MINKPINK – Rs. 2772
