93rd Regatta: The Unbreakable Legacy

The 93rd edition of “Regatta”, an event organized by the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) will kick off on July 11, on the online platform.

Regatta is a platform for students to experience various water sports activity in front of thousands of audience. COEP has been celebrating the show every year in the presence of 2500 students and their parents with full enthusiasm. The magnificent outcome of rigorous practice, perceptive minds, devotion and intense determination has yielded to scale to new heights of innovation.

Regatta is a wonderful opportunity for the students to get introduced to water sports like rowing, kayaking, and canoeing and pursue them at a professional level. Regatta is much more than an event. It is the existence of an age-old tradition, a legacy being carried forward every year, with its splendour higher in magnitude each time.

Working with everyone and getting to know their ideologies for taking Regatta to a much higher level is the very crux of the team. Entire organizing committee seems to have immersed in the preparation for the Regatta. Students are working throughout the day and night. The yield of their efforts is surely going to create a bang!

Amidst the Covid crisis, students are decorating their beloved boat club and making all the necessary arrangements. Safety measures are also well taken care of. Everyone is on their toes to ensure that the legacy continues. The theme of this year’s Regatta is ‘Resilient Together’. The theme connotes the true meaning of what it means to be resilient, to overcome adversity and help uplift others during a crisis, to give them much needed strength and emotional support. In the face of events that seem utterly unimaginable, resilience allows people to marshal the strength to not just survive but to prosper.

Regatta is the longest-running college fest recorded in Limca book of record. The pandemic situation didn’t stop them from practising religiously in the waters of Mula river. The inaugural ceremony was hosted on the 2nd of July in the presence of a limited number of guests and participants. For the first time in the history of boat club, Regatta is going to held online. It will be streamed on YouTube on 11th of July, and aren’t we all excited for it. This regatta is going to bring back all the fond memories of college so stay tuned.
