Are you and your partner continuously getting into a feud? Are you always angry with your partner? Is there too much disagreement between the two of you? Do you feel that it is no longer working out? Are you always thinking what is going wrong?
Okay then, it is time for some reality check!
Your behaviour and habits play a significant role in deciding the future of your relationship. They have the ability to make or break a relationship. So if you want to hold your partner’s hand forever, you have to get rid of or at least try to avoid some bad habits.
Remember there are two of you’ll in the relationship. This relationship is not just about you. Be thoughtful, understanding and considerate towards your partner. So when dealing with an issue or talking, be very careful of your actions and words. Think about the impact your words and actions can have on your partner, before taking a step. There is a thin line between raising your opinion and acting selfish, make sure to not cross that line. It will end up hurting your partner and also might lead to unpleasant arguments.
Doing this can get very irritating to your partner. Not just this, but you will also come off as an immature person. Always starting a fight for petty things like “you didn’t pick up my call” or “how could you cancel the plan at the end moment” can make your partner grow tired of being with you. So don’t push him/her to that limit. Sometimes ignoring and letting go of certain things is the best you can do, especially when issues are very minor.
Very few have the quality of expressing and conveying feelings and thoughts with their significant other. Those who don’t express are usually the ones who are always either stressed, annoyed or upset. Remember that until and unless you don’t communicate and express things to your partner, he/she is never going to find out what is going on in your mind. If there is something that is bothering you, sit with your partner, talk and find a solution. Expressing need not just be talking about problems. Saying sweet and romantic things like ‘I love you’, ‘You are my best friend’, ‘You make me feel safe and comfortable’, can also put your partner in a good mood. So express freely.
Agreed that we all are busy with our jobs, but not finding and making time for your partner can really mess things up. It is when you take the time and spend that time together, that you catch up on each other’s life. So when you do this, block out everything else and just enjoy each other’s presence. Make each other feel that at the end of the day, all that matters is your love for them.
In this day and age of social media, memes, Instagramming, tagging, and sharing, it’s very difficult to put down your phone. We understand but do it. Look up from your phone and have interesting conversations with your partner. Show that you are interested in listening to his/her, in knowing how he/she is feeling, and appreciate each other’s company.
These are some of the most common habits that are responsible for breakups. If you have ticked off even a single out of this, you have to start avoiding them in order to save your relationship from getting ruined.
