22-year-old Sushree Kumar ranked 151 all over India, to become the youngest to crack the Civil Services exam in the first attempt, securing the 151st rank. Kumar hails from Kollam, Kerala and is the daughter of retired CRPF officer Sunil Kumar. Sunil Kumar was also a part of the security team protecting former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Praises and felicitation poured in from all sides, with friends and family coming to her house to congratulate her, and her phone hasn’t stopped ringing since the results were announced. Sushree has always wanted to become a civil servant, and her father was always understanding and supportive of her dreams. Post-retirement, he has put in a lot of work and energy in order to fulfill his daughter’s dream.

Sushree says in 2008, when she was 14 years old, she once got an opportunity to present a bouquet to the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Gurcharan Kaur. She told Manmohan Singh about her dream to become a civil servant, and was elated upon receiving his blessing, which motivated her to pursue her dream of becoming a Civil Servant.

According to India Today, an IAS officer who she once saw inspired her to dream of becoming a civil service officer. Furthermore, she was mentored by N Ramachandran, former DGP of Assam and Meghalaya, who assisted her for the UPSC exams

The CRPF tweeted a congratulatory message to Sushree Kumar and her father, ”CRPF congratulates Inspector (Retd) PT Sunil Kumar on success of his daughter Sushree. The member of CRPF family is the youngest to qualify the civil service exam this year. The native of Kollam, Kerala, secured 151st rank in her first attempt. We wish her a bright future”

We congratulate Sushree Kumar, and all others who have excelled through the Civil Services exam. We surely hope you will do your family and country proud.
