Yogi Adityanath was born in Panchur, Uttar Pradesh as Ajay Bisth Singh on June 5, 1972. He gave up his birth name after becoming a Yogi.
Yogi is quite educated, unlike the accusations which say otherwise. He has an honours degree in Mathematics from H. N. B. Garhwal University.
Adityanath renounced his family at the age of 21 and became a disciple of MahantAvaidyanath, then the head priest of Gorakhnath Math. He was promoted to the rank of Mahant of Guru Gorakhnath Temple. Yogi Adityanath was made Peethadhishwar of Gorakhnath Temple amid traditional rituals of the Nath sect on 14 September 2014.
The Yogi is an MP in the Lok Sabha, and since his appointment in 1998, he’s been winning consistently. His constant success in politics can be credited for his present day status and power.
Despite many misconceptions which surround this fact, Yogi Adityanath has never been in good terms with the Bhartiya Janta Party. He is one of the few members who opposed the Women Reservation Act.
