Techfest, IIT Bombay Unveils Exciting line-up for its 27th Edition!

Techfest, IIT Bombay’s annual science and technology fest is back in full swing, bigger and better than ever! Last year’s revamp was a hit, and this year, we’re taking it up a notch. With a footfall of over 1,75,000 and pan-India reach across 2500+ colleges, attracting participants and audiences from the country and all the corners of the world, with the launch of the lecture series, International Robowars, International Exhibitions attracting immense attention globally. 

Lecture series: 

Continuing the tradition of bringing the most prominent personalities from across the world, Techfest is back with the 27th edition of its Lecture Series with yet another compelling line-up of speakers. 

1. Akash Ambani: Launching our first speaker of the lecture series we have Akash M. Ambani, the Chairman of Reliance Jio, recognized for his role in reshaping the telecommunications and digital services landscape in the country.

2. Shri. S. Somanath: Next in the lecture series we have Shri. S. Somanath, Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation  (ISRO). A trailblazer and an aerospace engineer, Shri. Somanath has played a pivotal role in driving India’s space exploration endeavors. He has spearheaded the successful launches of Chandrayaan-3, and Aditya-L1 among many others, putting India on the global map of spacefaring nations. 

3. Oľga Algayerová: Next in the Lecture lineup, we have, Oľga Algayerová, former Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. Techfest, IIT Bombay provides everyone a chance to meet her at Techfest addressing global challenges and harnessing science, technology, and innovation for sustainable development. 

International Robowars: The International Robowars is India’s largest Robot Combat competition whereby teams from around the globe, will have their bots battle each other in a metal cage until one comes out on top for the coveted Robowars Champion Title. Renowned teams like Team @riobotz from Brazil and Teamorby from South Korea, armed with formidable vertical spinners, promise thrilling clashes. With a prize pool exceeding 1.3 Million, the audience is in for an electrifying experience. 

International Exhibitions: Techfest introduces international exhibitions featuring cutting-edge innovations. Magnecko from Switzerland, a gecko-inspired robot capable of impressive climbs, and the Open Source Bionic Leg from the University of Michigan showcase the forefront of technology, blending artificial intelligence, affordability, and customization for high-performance capabilities. 

Technoholix Night: Techfest is proud to announce Matisse & Sadko as the Headliner for the Technoholix Night of Techfest ’23. With chart-topping tracks and collaborations like ‘Forever’ and ‘Together’ with Martin Garrix, Tomorrowland‘s iconic duo will give the perfect ending to Techfest ’23 on 29th of December. 

Techfest Workshops: 

Techfest’s Workshop Series returns, offering advanced learning experiences with top educators in the field and professors of IIT Bombay. Participants will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies, network with like-minded enthusiasts, and receive a FREE Access Pass to IIT Bombay and Techfest events.
