Inauguration Of Jamnabai Narsee Playground – Changing The Landscape Of Sports In Mumbai

Jairaj Thacker & Sujay Jairaj from the management of the Narsee Monjee Educational Trust inaugurate the newly furbished Jamnabai Narsee Playground on Tuesday, 11th December, 2018.

The advanced sports playground encompasses a full-size soccer pitch (FIFA approved turf), multiple cricket pitches, athletic tracks, professional stadium lights, facilities for changing, washing and storing and a specialised full pitch skeleton drain system for all weather play.

The All Stars Football Club led by Abhishek Bachchan, Ishaan Khattar, Dino Morea, Jim Sarbh, Shabir Ahluwalia, Sachin Joshi, and other celebrities played an exhibition match with the school football team to mark the opening of the playground. This is undoubtedly an exciting event bringing celebrities and sports enthusiasts together.

Amruta Fadnavis, Jaaved Jaffrey, Swaroop Rawal, Arhaan Khan, Harsha Hinduja, Schauna Chauhan also enjoyed watching the game that drew between The All Stars Football Club and students of Jamnabai Narsee School.

The All Stars Football Club is an initiative by GS Sports and Bunty Walia wherein a team of celebrities from all walks of life play football to generate money for noble causes while promoting the sport of the football.

Trustee Sujay Jairaj emphasizes that Sports has always been an integral part of Education at their schools and adds, “This full FIFA size football pitch along with a professional running track and stadium lights with multi-sport capabilities will be a boon for sports development. We will have sporting academies which will help the students to perform better at national and international levels.”

Sporting activities are an integral part of the education offered at Jamnabai Narsee School and no stone is left unturned in providing the infrastructure and opportunity. This playground will not only benefit the school population but also the community at large, bringing people together with a common goal towards fitness and well being.

This facility with international standards reiterates our commitment towards holistic education and the community at large.”

All Stars Football Club co-founder and captain, Abhishek Bachchan quoted, “Education is beyond just bookish knowledge. Sports teach us important values like teamwork, continuous determination and hard work which is needed in all our lives. All this should be inculcated in kids during a ripe age for them to lead a successful life. Facilities like these will create a sporting ecosystem which will help us all to build a better society.
